Why book The Knights of Skirbeck? We can deliver an authentic living history encampment that is NOT roped off - our display tents are open and accessible to visitors, a choice of arena displays - from serious education to good old fashioned family entertainment, and how many other groups can boast a team with qualifications such as a NEBOSH Health & Safety adviser, qualified first aiders and a Level 3 Certificate in Event Management? We can!

Though we are the Boston Medieval Re-enactment Society, we perform at events as far apart as Grimsby, London, Skegness & Caldicot (South Wales).


Prices
 
To have The Knights of Skirbeck, with their encampment (approx. 10 - 12 authentic tents & 15 - 20 people), living history displays, armour & weapons, plus combat demonstrations at your
event in Lincolnshire -

We ask £500 for one day or £600 for a weekend (2 days)

What we need
For us to be able to set up camp at an event, there are a few things we need,

the main priorities are;

Vehicle access to the site

Space (our tents occupy approx. 200' x 30')
Drinking water (a standpipe is ideal)
A toilet (from arrival to departure)
Time to set up (approx. 8 hours for a full camp)
A contact on site (so we know where to camp)
and ideally Firewood (any type, for cooking & heating)

Why we charge

We are a not for profit organization, dedicated to entertaining the public while improving their understanding of the medieval period, dispelling some myths and helping local charities. All members are volunteers, but we still have to pay for public liability insurance, food (which forms part of our displays), group equipment such as weapons & clothes (to loan new members until they can afford their own), communal tents, repairs, transport/fuel etc. etc.

We do NOT charge for our time - even though it takes approx. 8 hours to set up camp and some members take time off work without pay - our charges simply help cover the society expenses, so please do not be offended if we say we can't perform at your event for free - we simply can't afford to, no matter how much we'd like to.
